On the morning of the 1st March 2010, Hai Huong Seafood Joint Stock Company held the construction start-up ceremony of the seafood processing factory for export in An Hiep Industry Park of Ben Tre province. The factory is constructed on the total area of 29,600m2 with total investment of VND 250 billion. As reported at the ceremony, the factory will use latest technology and equipment of food industry to ensure environmental protection matter and food quality. The total output capacity of the factory is 17,400 tons per year and all products for export. The factory construction also includes one cold storage with capacity of 2,500 tons of finished products.
It is reported that the factory will be completed and put into operation at the end of 2010. When operating, it will create from 900 to 1,500 jobs for local people. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thai Xay, Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People’s Committee stated the Company invested in the priority sector of the province, helped consume raw materials of aqua sector and he stressed the local authorities would create the most favorable conditions to support the Company during construction and operation process, especially administrative procedures and labour recruitment. Hai Huong is the second seafood processing factory to be started up construction in An Hiep IP after Huy Hoang seafood processing factory with total investment of around VND380 billion.
