In the first ten months of the year 2008, Ben Tre province has received and contacted with 140 foreign and domestic investment delegations through IPC Ben Tre and Industrial Parks Management Board. In these, there are many investors to come to Ben Tre in the first time such as Technoma Corporation (Italia), investors from Japan, New Zealand and Netherlands. As a result, the total new investment registration capital attains VND 1,200 billion. Of which, FDI capital accounts for about 13%, the next is domestic capital. Most projects granted investment certificate are leased land in the industrial park and in Chau Thanh district.

According to statistic of IPC Ben Tre, the province is considering 22 documents of foreign and domestic investors for asking investment approving, of which there are several big projects with registration capital of VND hundreds billion. Because of the demand of land lease is large, the province is considering, especially at places not yet specific planning. Chau Thanh district is especially concerned by investors due to its place is advantageous the both of by sea and by land. If the projects are considered to issue, the total new investment capital of the year 2008 shall be over VND 3,000 billion.
